Converting Wyoming PRB Coal to Hydrogen		2/22/2023	2/22/2023	8:00 AM	8:45 AM	2/22/2023 8:00 AM - 8:45 AM Presenter: Derek Silbaugh – Director of Generation Engineering, Black Hill Corporation The immediate public benefit will be through the analysis performed in the techno-economic feasibility study and made available to the Wyoming Energy Authority and subsequent energy companies, to determine if Wyodak (PRB) coal can be used as a low carbon intensity energy source. Long-term benefits are a more stable path in the cost and supply of energy, compared to the replacement of base-loaded coal generation with non-dispatchable renewables or the extremely high costs in implementing commercially available carbon capture technologies to coal generation.

Ameren Labadie North Surge Bin Feeder and Gate Replacement		2/22/2023	2/22/2023	9:45 AM	10:30 AM	2/22/2023 9:45 AM - 10:30 AM Presenter: Peter DuBois, Engineer – Ameren Vibratory coal feeders below the surge bin on Units 1 and 2 at Ameren's Labadie Energy Center were in poor shape and in need of replacement. Isolation gates above the feeders were also no longer functional and required replacement. Both units share a common surge bin and would require either a dual unit outage or surge bin bypass to replace the feeders. With a scheduled dual unit mini-outage overlap of one week in fall 2022, there was a narrow window to complete the four feeder upgrades and supporting equipment on both units and maintain reliable supply of coal to the plant while avoiding schedule interferences with other coal system projects.
